I believe I am with most people stating that this recession bites…BIG TIME and I don’t have any hope what so ever it is going to get better soon. Sorry to disappoint but anyone crossing their fingers may as well just hunker down a bit more. As a retailer of small business I came to this realization after 18 of some of the hardest months in business I have ever had.
Its not just fewer people and smaller sales that make times tough, it is also people. People are in general angrier, more frustrated and short fused….all in all stressed out to the max. It has made business doublely hard because working with the general public has been that much more stressful.
I can see to a point where some people are coming from, but all those people out there that take their stress out on a perfect stranger in the form of belligerent screaming or crying is really unacceptable. I don’t know how many times I am put through extremely stressful situations in my business dealing with incompetent manufacturers, reps, customers coming out of left field, and not once can I think of a time I have taken my stress and frustration out in the form of yelling, swearing, throwing things and carrying on in that way.
Just some friendly advise I learned a long time ago…diplomacy goes a LOOONNNGGG way and people tend to work harder for people they respect i.e are kind and humble.
