Uggggh…I hate firing employees, even those employees who REALLY deserve it. I don’t know why? I guess I can empathize with all people even those who don’t deserve a position in my business. I also think part of it is that employees are often different around the owners than they are around other staff. Employees tend to work hard, are team players, and hustle when the owner is in the room but the second the owner is gone their work ethic falls way off. I also think a poor hire is a reflection on the person who did the hire, and in turn a refelection on me.
My advise…when you think you have an employee that does not fit your business, you start having fantasy’s of your business without this person, it is time to cut the cord. It will be hard, maybe even nauseating, but in the end you will be so relieved and the most important thing of all you will end up saving money in the long run!
